Editor guide

The vehicle editor runs in the browser, sends nothing to any server and saves your work in the browser itself.

How to use it

  1. On opening, a new vehicle starts. To edit an existing one use Import vehicle or models (or drop the file on the page): the editor reads HJSON and JSON, even with comments and trailing commas.
  2. To see the body, import the pack's .json models. With several files, each becomes a skin; if you already have skins without a model, they get linked in order.
  3. .png textures are optional: without them, models are colored per element. With textures, the file name must match the one in the model (offroadcarblack.png for offroad/offroadcarblack).
  4. Select a part from the list or by clicking it in the 3D view and drag it. W moves, E rotates, F frames it, Ctrl+D duplicates (mirroring X), Del deletes, Ctrl+Z undoes and Ctrl+Y (or Ctrl+Shift+Z) redoes.
  5. Check the warnings in the File tab and download the file with Download .hjson.

Saving

  • Work is saved in the browser on every change and restored when the page is reopened.
  • Save project downloads an .evproject.json file with the vehicle, models and textures: use it to move the work to another computer. Open project reads it back.
  • Imported models are only used for the preview: the vehicle file only keeps the material and custommodeldata.
  • Fields the editor does not know (exhaust, horn, sounds, gearbox...) are kept and written back unchanged.
Preview accuracy

The preview rebuilds position and scale the way the game computes them, but it stays an approximation: the exact seat height and the player's shape depend on Minecraft. After your first in-game try, adjust origin-height and seat-offset and bring the same values back into the editor.
